how this site was made
Front end
XHTML 1.0 Strict, CSS 3.0 (some experimental opacity stuff), and Scriptaculous overtop Prototype for all the special fadey and scrolly effects. Background is, for the most part, one giant image with many many transparent PNG graphics overtop.
Back end
Not much there, though I have the wonderful Google Analytics stalking you. :) Please, if you at all care about your experience on this web site (and the rest of the internet), consider not using Internet Explorer!
Portfolio
The portfolio gallery features a hand-coded PHP interface which fetches info about each piece from a MySQL database. I didn't flesh out the administrative back-end too much, except make an interface via which I can upload works and add information, and let it auto-generate thumbnails where needed and add it to the table. Portfolio used to be imported from my Behance, but unfortunately it kept breaking, so I decided to just bite the bullet and write my won mini-portfolio manager. Never fails. :D
The horizontal scrolling is created with a Prototype/Scriptaculous script called Glider.
Blog
The blog is just good ol' Wordpress, themed to complement my main site's layout. Nothing fancy.
"Natalie"
Nothing too fancy. Giant illustration PNG, and then some boxes.
