About this stuff

This "stuff"— a nascent mix of visual narratives, character designs, comics, infographics, animation, paintings, graphic design, logos & branding, and web design & software.

Hmmm. That's quite a mess there.

I work primarily digitally, 90% of the time using Adobe Photoshop CS4 for almost all steps of my work's creation (including web design work). I have disproportionately extensive experience in vector graphics, though my heart lies with digital painting, line-work-heavier raster illustration, mixed-media techniques, and various things that entail biting off more than I can comfortably chew.

When working with exclusively computer-generated images, I enjoy giving the final product traditional touches—else it's just too easy to make things these days. I also very much enjoy making comics and doodling in very very rough forms; because, let's face it, sometimes xkcd says it best. Actually, pretty much always.

My goals as an artist, whilst I am still very much a student, are simple: practice, practice, practice. There's a perfect style, medium and composition for any creative intention and the challenge is to find it—to which there's no shortcut but the long, rough road. My corollary goal is to sleep occasionally. We'll see how I fare!

Browse around and enjoy, and, if you feel particularly inspired, feel free to follow along on the blog or say hello, if you're not in a hurry!
